We are making plans to hold the Second Annual Chocolates and Cha-Cha party for the BNI Foundation on February 8, 2014 to close out International Networking Week. This year there were two locations holding the Chocolates and Cha-Cha party, headquarters and Central Texas. Next year we hope that we can make this fun party a worldwide event!
Our hearts are broken with all those who have lost so much in Moore, OK. We have heard from BNI ED, Chesca Bailey, who says the following: “Thank you for your prayers for all the people in the Moore, Oklahoma area. We have heard of one member losing everything, and a number of others with relatives displaced. Your support is greatly appreciated, as it is truly unbelievable the devastation.”
Please read the following letter from our BNI Boston Executive Director, Patti Salvucci:
We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our members who have reached out to us regarding donations to the families and victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Any donations totaling $250 may be directed to the One Boston Fund via the BNI Foundation. Chapters collecting $250 or more should write one check and send it to:
I recently interviewed Jonathan Jenkins, member of BNI Platinum Coast Chapter in Lake Forest, CA, and immediate past Education Coordinator. Last year he filmed all his chapter members’ presentations and made them available, branded with their company’s material, at no cost to them! He is a real giver and he has the distinction of being the first BNI member to support the BNI Foundation with monthly contributions in our Super Hero program.
Here are the highlights of my interview:

You’ve probably heard that BNI has a charitable foundation called the BNI Foundation, which has donated almost two million dollars to charitable causes. However, when it comes to knowing where all that money comes from, where it goes, and what the Foundation really is all about, you might still be scratching your head.
The best way to learn the simple facts about the Foundation and stay in the know about how BNI is helping to make the world a better place is to click “Like” on the Foundation’s Facebook page.
Hurricane Sandy careened across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States leaving a path of devastation in its wake; the BNI Foundation is responding to the great need for immediate disaster relief by opening a special relief fund for the Red Cross.
BNI feels deep sympathy and concern for all those affected by this disaster, so the BNI Foundation will match the first $10,000 donated to the fund. One hundred percent of all donations made for disaster relief will go directly to the Red Cross.
The children at Bluebells School, a BNI Foundation project in Bangalore, India, have a personal Christmas message for BNI Foundation co-founders, Ivan and Beth, as well as BNI Directors, Meena and Mac.
